Monday Catch up

I don't have any good pictures to post this Monday. Just some random happenings.

1. We went to a 3 year old's birthday party on Saturday...it was loud! :)
2. Harper's bottom tooth is huge..it's the topic of conversation in the Cutlip house.
3. I'm OBSESSED with the game "DrawSomething". Can't stop, won't stop.
4. Trooper is on vacation at his Grammy and Grandy's house. Life just isn't the same without him.
5. Harper has a bad cough and I'm debating taking her to the doctor. She has a runny nose to go with it, but no fever. The cough kept her up last night.
6. We had our first accident involving Harper this weekend. Miss Harper decided she wanted to roll off the bed. Scared the living daylights out of us. We all survived. Mommy and Daddy suffered the most.
7. Harper's babysitter just emailed me to ask why Harper is protesting her high chair this morning. Looks like someone has a case of the Monday's! :)
8. Harper get's to spend half of her days on Tuesday and Wednesday with her Daddy cause Mommy has to work late both days.
9. First birthday planning is in full swing! It's going to be "owlsome"!

7 Months

*Harper turned 8 months old today, but I was a little behind with her pictures. Technically she was still 7 months old!

I'm guessing Harper is weighing in at a whopping 16ish pounds...and still short :)

She is in a size 3 diaper and taking 7 ounces of milk in each bottle. I try to make her take 4 bottles day, but lately she only will take 3. But she is eating 3 solid meals a day. In the morning, she has yogurt. Afternoon, a fruit or veggie and in the evenings another fruit or veggie. She loves her prunes and sweet potatoes. Her 2 favorite things! She still hates bananas. She is wearing size 6-9 months (sometimes 12 months in pants ironically).

She isn't crawling yet. It's driving her daddy crazy. But I'm perfectly fine with it. If she sees something she wants, she will just roll over to it. Although, she does get up on her hands and knees and rock...so maybe she will start crawling soon. No signs of saying Mommy or Daddy yet, but she is a "talker". She is constantly babbling. In the store, in the mall, in Cracker Barrel, in the car, etc.

She now sits in a buggy like a big girl everywhere we go. She also sits in a high chair at restaurants. She loves it, she acts so proud of herself.

She still lights up when one of us walks into the room. Nothing is better than that feeling. Her personality is really starting to shine too! She knows when something is funny. Just last weekend, she thought Ryder was HILARIOUS playing fetch. She was letting out all kinds of belly laughs.

She loves to play in her exersaucer. It can keep her entertained for hours.

Last, but certainly not least, Harper sleeps 10-12 hours a night. ALL NIGHT! It's so nice. She always takes 2-3 cat naps throughout the day. Although, she seems to be napping better for her babysitter.

 I can't wait to see what this next month brings. We love you Harper Alizabeth!

When in Rome, do as the Romans

We made a trip into West Virginia this weekend. And the theme for the weekend was "When in Rome, do as the Romans". Growing up in WV we didn't think life was that different compared to everywhere else. But the longer we live away, the more we notice it. We aren't knocking it all...just an observation. Anywho, I will let the pictures tell you about our trip.

The weekend started out by suprising my cousin Lane. She gave birth to a precious (and HUGE 10 pounder) baby boy. Caleb is so handsome!

Harper LOVES other kids. She was very interested in meeting Caleb.

But she got bored after awhile and decided to play on her laptop.

 I had to run to TJ Maxx to get a security tag taken off her Easter dress. They left it on when I BOUGHT it...no, I didn't steal it! BUT....in the same parking lot as TJ Maxx is a Krispy Kreme. I couldn't resist! The sign said they were hot!! And I knew I wouldn't be the only person to enjoy them. My dad loves them just as much as me. So, I we introduced Harper to Krispy Kremes.

The weather was beautiful all weekend, so I broke out Harper's sandals to wear...how freakin adorable are these?! She loved wearing them.

On Saturday the girls went out and about. While the boys stayed at home and rested. I cought dad using Harper's blanket to keep warm! Either that or he missed her so much and couldn't resist!

And of course Trooper got caught up on some shut eye. That chair is HIS chair when he is visiting. My mom tries so hard to keep it nice and clean, but it's a lost cause when Trooper is in town.

Sunday was another beautiful day, so I decided to take Harper out and let her feel grass. But I decided that when I was in the middle of changing her clothes. So I said to myself, "when in Rome...." Will was mortified when looking at the pictures, but she didn't mind one bit!

I just had to throw in this picture...I checked on her while she was taking a nap and this is how I found her...silly girl!

Saying goodbye just keeps getting harder! :(

Pictures

I'm having a bad day today. Like "can't wait to go to bed and forget this day even happened" type of day. But, like always, all it took for me to cheer up is to look at pictures of Harper. I still haven't been able to escape the realities of today, but it sure has helped me deal with them.

The first picture is of Harper in her exersaucer on our bed. You have to do what you have to do to make her happy. I had to get ready and all she wanted to do was play in her exersaucer!

The second picture is of her swinging...obviously. It's been crazy warm here the past few days, so I have been rushing home to get outside and take walks with her. We found a playground, so we stopped. She enjoyed it. But the cutest thing was what was going on around us. WE LOVE OUR NEIGHBORHOOD (and small town). Like never, ever want to move. It has that small town feel to it, it's so suburbia! Anyway, 4 kids were out selling water balloons. And they kept trying to wheel and deal with me the whole time. It was the cutest thing in the world. Harper was completely entertained. When I got home tonight I have to pay them visit. I told them I would buy 11 water balloons for $1...that is a steal! ;)

I had my weekly lunch date with my little family this afternoon. Nothing makes me happier. Seriously...nothing makes me happier than to be with my family. I have never met a happier baby than Miss Harper. She is just so happy. Even the babysitter mentioned it. And this week has been no exception. Harper's personality is really starting to shine. She laughs at everything. Any by laugh, I mean deep belly laughs. If she sees a camera, she smiles. We don't have to coax her into smiling--she just knows exactly what to do.

She has been eating solids like a champ. We figured out she is just really weird about food textures. Which, we have been able to work around.

Her 2nd tooth has officially pooped though the gums. We noticed it at lunch today. She is just getting so big too quick!

Anyway, back to lunch, we had a photo shoot before I had to leave to go back to work. Enjoy...and Happy Friday! We are going swimming and shopping....YIPPEE!

I'm a creep

Okay, I may not be a creep, but I felt like one the other night.

Harper has decided to start sleeping with her booty in the air. She has always been a tummy sleeper, but she would just lay down face down (literally) and not move. But now, after I rock her and lay her down, she puts that booty in the air and snoozes away!

So, I felt a little creepy sneaking in the other night taking her picture. But that little booty is too cute not to capture on film!

Super Tuesday

It's no secret I have always been interested in politics. So making sure Harper knows the importance of voting is something that is very important to me. I want to make sure she realizes just how important it is to cast a vote. So I started her early....on Super Tuesday.

For the record, since it's my blog, I'm not happy with any presidential candidate right now. But I didn't tell Harper that. I just gave her a good history lesson and told her all about her daddy and what he has done to ensure she lives in the land of the free.

We have a secret weapon

I'm not sure if I have ever mentioned the Cutlip family secret weapon...The Gummy Bear song!

This song is like no other. Harper is in love with Gummy Bear. We found Mr. Gummy Bear out of desperation. We were in WV one weekend and I ran into Fruth Pharmacy to pick up some diapers and Harper and Will were left in the car. Harper wasn't willing to wait. She started to melt down. Will quickly pulled out his iPhone and searched youtube...and this popped up....



Our house hasn't been the same since. Harper can be in the middle of crying and when she hears "gummy, gummy, gummy" she lights up and shuts up. She is mesmorized by it. Next time we have to resort to this, I will take video of her and post it. Maybe her first birthday should be Gummy Bear themed?! Hmmm....
