It's Monday again

I don't have anything...I just feel obligated to post something since I usually have something good to say on Monday's. Not this Monday. We didn't do a darn thing this weekend but relax. So just for some fun and entertainment here are few fun facts about me:

1. I'm scared to death of deer. I have heard their hooves are as sharp as knives!! No one will confirm nor deny that...if you know, please tell me. It's a long standing question in the Cutlip house.

2. I still get sad when I think of my childhood dog, Jake. He is missed so much by me.

3. I must get AT LEAST 8 hours of sleep. If not, I'm like a zombie. I'm very lucky to have such a good baby that allows me to get my sleep.

4. Will and I fight like cats and dogs, laugh like middle schoolers and love like an old, married couple. We are so hard headed sometimes that we just clash. But not a day goes by that I don't cry laughing over something he did. And I love him to the moon and back!

5. I have had a plant on my desk at work for 5 years. I have battled to keep that thing alive. I even arranged for someone to care for it while I was on maternity leave. It died this month. I'm sad. I can't bring myself to throw it away just yet.

6. The older I get, the more I love and need my parents. I didn't think that was possible, but trust me...it is. I love watching them be grandparents to my daughter. I don't think Harper could ask for better grandparents. I love the way they love her. I love that I can call my parents about anything. For instance, I was running a REALLY high fever and I called home to ask what I should do. I have needed my parents more in the last 7 months than ever. Not a day goes by that I don't count my blessings.

7. My job is interesting...to say the least. It has made me see the bad in all politicians. I have been successful at my job though. Which makes me proud of where I am today.

8. I LOVE my daughter more than I will ever be able to type. Becoming a mommy is the most amazing thing I have ever experienced. I NEVER thought I would speak those words. I thought I wasn't cut out to be a mommy...Harper proved me wrong. She has several times in her short life.

TV addict

My daughter has been addicted to the tv since day one. This morning has been no exception. She has been up since 6:00am watching The Squekquel: Alvin & The Chipmunks. Here she is glued to the tv!

Go big or go home...

That describes my life! It single-handedly describes my pregnancy and recovery.

But it seems it hasn't ended there.

On Sunday, I started feeling bad and thought I was getting an ear infection. I hadn't had an ear infection for years, but something just wasn't feeling right. I thought I would just go to our local Urgent Care and get a prescription and move on. I didn't want to have to miss work, so I thought I was nipping it in the bud ASAP. But, I left urgent care with no answer, just a virus. That evening I starting running a 104 degree fever and felt like h-e-double hockey sticks. Yesterday, I had finally had it and decided to just call my family doctor and see what she thought.

Of course it can't just be the common cold! I have an abscessed tonsil. Sounds sick huh?! So a shot of steroids and a 10-day 'script of antibiotics later...I should start feeling better. If not, an ultrasound and tonsil draining (even sicker huh?) will be in my future.

Our family honestly lives up to our name...Cutlip Chaos!

Happy Birthday Grammy

Happy Birthday Grammy! We LOVE you so much--you have NO idea. We hope you enjoyed your day, I know you deserve every minute of relaxation you can possibly soak in. We miss you so much! Love you to the moon back!

After an uphill battle with Harper about eating baby food...I think she is finally enjoying food! Since my sweet little Harper was born 5 weeks early, I thought maybe I was pushing baby food a little too early for her. So I decided I would wait about a month before giving it a try again...putting her at 6 months if born on her due date. And it worked!!

And she dumped some of it out, but don't worry, I didn't let it go to waste.

A vision of pink

When I found out I was pregnant I was excited to start planning a nursery. I loved looking at other nursery's to get inspiration. So, I thought I would post pictures of Harper's nursery. I absolutely love her nursery. It's so girly and pink. It's so calming and sweet. And I know Harper LOVES her room. She loves to sit on the floor and play in there. She could spend hours on her changing pad playing. And she loves to wake up and watch "her butterflies" fly. So, without further adeiu, here are a few pictures of the major things in her nursery.

The shelves in her room. A piggy bank, stuffed elephant (I hope someday she will realize why Mommy wants her to love elephants!), a "H" for Harper that was used at her baby shower and our life saver...the monitor camera!

The rocking chair I use every night to rock her to sleep. Some of the best moments of my life have happened in this chair. Nothing is better than clean, snuggly baby.

I'm late posting Harper's six month pictures..but here they are. She is so BIG! I remember having to prop her up on her pillow to get a picture.

And I laid her in her crib to get a length shot and she thought it was "night, night" time. I thought it was funny.

Miss Harper is getting her 2nd tooth and it has been BRUTAL! Her first tooth seemed so easy, but this tooth has been brutal on her. So bad that I left work early the other day to take her to the doctor. Of course I walked out with a smiling baby and a diagnosis of teething. Ugh, can we say typical first time mommy!! I was just afraid she had an ear infection or something and I didn't know it. But that wasn't the case. Just a case of teething. I'm just ready for my little sweet and happy Harper to be pain free again. The only plus side is she slept for 12 hours straight last night. I had to wake up and check on her I was so nervous.

I also celebrated my first birthday as a Mommy. Unfortunately, Harper didn't feel good and I have been working longer hours...so we didn't really celebrate. Will made my favorite dinner and I ate a piece of homemade red velvet cake. Then I headed to bed for an early morning at work. Oh well, I have many more birthday's to celebrate while I'm a mommy.

Big Month

February is a big month in the Tidd family. 3 out of the 4 birthday's are this month. So alot of celebrating goes on this month.

So happens Grammy is coming into town tonight with Harper's great-grandmother to stay almost a week. Harper's babysitter is going to Utah for a wedding and Grammy has the honor to babysit Miss Harper for 2.5 days next week! And because Matt's, mine, Harper's (7 months!!!!) and Grammy's birthday are all within a week of each other, we are celebrating tonight! I can't wait to celebrate my birthday with my daughter for the first time!

We are heading to dinner this evening with everyone. I'm hoping to go swimming again tomorrow, but who knows what we will get into.

Either way, I think this birthday may be the best yet!

High chair

Up until recently, Harper had a hate/hate relationship with her highchair. But oh my goodness, she is warming up to the idea of sitting in her highchair. I will let the pictures do the talking...

And yes, I know I have the cutest little girl ever!

Growing up

I'm sure you have noticed but I just wanted to point out that Harper is growing up at rapid speed. She is now an expert sitter-uper. She will sit on the floor for hours and play. Once she gets tired, she will fall back and roll around on the floor. She will do this for as long as we will let her or she decides she is just too hungry to move on. She has become very interactive also. If you talk to her she will talk back (in a good way) or smile. These milestones are so much fun. Will is anxious for her to start crawling, but I have to admit, I'm not. I'm not ready for her to become more independent and start getting into everything. I want to treasure this amazing time.

I have also mentioned several times that Harper loves to talk. Oh my goodness...she is a little chatter box. She talks all day long. As a matter of fact, she talked all the way to the babysitter's house this morning. Not only is she talking, she is also squeeling. It's adorable. I think she is taking after her Momma. I used to drive my dad crazy cause I was loud and would scream...Harper is the EXACT same way. But for some reason Grammy and Grandy love to hear it from her. :)

Weekend Recap

We kicked off the weekend by shopping for Miss Harper's valentine's. My recent addiction to Pinterest has made me craftier (is that even a word?) in my old age. I will post a picture of the Valentine's Day treats after everyone receives them. But let me just warn you...they are adorable! And Harper took interest in making them.

Saturday morning after we had pancakes in bed and watched Will clean house <----yep, that really happened...we headed to the swimming pool. I was hoping she would love the water. She loves bathtime, so I only assumed she would like swimming. Boy was I right...Harper was like a little fish. She LOVED it! She kept wanting to float. She would lay on her back and want to put her head in the water. She even  put her face in the water a couple of times. She kicked her feet like crazy the whole time. And she talked alot. There was another 6 month old baby in the pool too. Harper kept trying to get to her. Harper loves being around other kids. I love that about her!

Those are Will Cutlip's leg if I have ever seen them! Poor girl is all body and no leg...she gets it honestly from both sides. Sorry baby!

And Sunday I finally went through more of her baby clothes. I have been putting it off for a couple of weeks because I'm just not ready for her to grow up. It makes me so sad. So we spent the day cleaning out her closet and prepping for the Superbowl.

Making sure I'm watching the big game. She looks a little rough because she has a little cold that is causing her eyes to be a little gunky. But she is still a happy baby!

That is our weekeend in a nutshell. This week we are looking forward to Grammy and Gran coming to visit. Harper also gets to see her cousins on Friday night to celebrate Mommy's, Uncle Matt's and Grammy's birthday. And she is so excited to have Grammy babysit next week.
